ztect,

>You have misinterpreted Ted's comments.

Here is TED's comments:

"Regarding the reboot requirements ... there has been discussion in the Y2K area regarding the safety of rebooting just once to test for the 12/31/99 rollover. There are some who believe that a reboot is necessary to test each one of the "sensitive" dates ... like 2/28/00 and even 9/9/99."

Although TED himself doesn't believe it is necessary to test other sensitive date, providing the option to those "who believe that a reboot is necessary to test each one of the 'sensitive' dates" is clearly NOT a "disadvantage". You are the one who "misinterpreted" it.

I am sorry but I feel I am wasting my time here. Let me says for the third time (and hope you understand this time): Bob got the software and asked me to test it and so I did and reported it. My main interest in GTCI is its ISP business.

Answer to you question 1) can found in a recent report at www.cnd.org (sorry I don't have time to look up it for your); answers to 2) and first part of 3) have been posted here long time ago by myself. For the second part of question 3, software products are still being pirated, but in smaller scale and by and individuals. Most institution user no longer dare to buy pirated products (it's not their money, why risking going to "labor camp").
