KD.. Great... That article really explains something that had been bothering me. Namely, that the newer fabs (eg. the LSI Gresham plant) just seemed to be incapable of "getting up to speed". ((I follow the Gresham plant because DPMI has leased facilities on the LSI campus, and is prepared to supply masks down to--I believe-- .13 micron, having pre-installed their own most advanced equipment. If I understand the import of that article correctly, then the turn in the semi industry it going to provide a dramatic improvement in margins for companies like LSI -- and the move to smaller linewidths will do wonders for the mask makers, of course.
Thanks, Katherine!
