A continuation of my "30/24" DELL Principle (ie. DELL hits an all time high, retracts 24% off that high and breaks thru ~ 30 sessions later):

Please read here for the first installment of the principle:

I have added a new clause into the rule that says DELL has 6 sessions to break thru an all time high after one is set. If it fails, then we can apply the principle.
Updated version:

End of Cycle 7. It took exactly 30 sessions for the September 28th all time high ($69 1/4) to be taken out. November 10th it traded into new territory.

Cycle 8. November 11, 1998. $73 1/2 new intraday high. It takes 29 sessions to break thru that high. DELL trades as low as $59 5/8 in that cycle (19% correction).

Cycle 9. New high reset on February 2, 1999. $110. 6 day grace period has been breached. Therefore if we apply the 30/24 principle--a 24% retraction would take us to $83.60. Today is session #9 in the cycle.

$83.60 looks like a good bottom based on this data that has occured in the last 8 cycles. We are possibly looking at ~ 21 more sessions (4 weeks+) before DELL breaks thru $110 again. If it ever does...:-)

Long Dell,
Jeff
