Internet Sales; First Quarter 1999 Web Sales Running 43%
over Fourth Quarter 1998

SHREWSBURY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 12, 1999--

Website Presence Further Expanded

Programmer's Paradise(R), Inc. (Nasdaq: PROG), the international computer products marketer,
stated today that sales from its newly enhanced and expanded webstore at www.pparadise.com are
running at approximately 43% over the sales level reported in the fourth quarter of 1998. In a
year-over-year comparison, the current rate of first quarter 1999 Internet sales is anticipated to reflect
a 205% increase over first quarter 1998 Internet sales.

Bill Willett, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Programmer's Paradise, stated, "Our improved
site provides the information and ease of ordering that appeals to our customer base of software
development professionals and information technology professionals within enterprise organizations.
Current sales levels are running ahead of expectations, and we are very encouraged by these strong
results."

The Company also announced the following initiatives designed to expand and enhance its Internet
commerce:

Media plc., have agreed to launch a new co-branded store of software development related products

115,000 developers. The Dobbs website provides unique source code, articles, columns and

The section will include computer- related books, interactive media, videos and other reference
materials for technology professionals. Book titles from Prentice-Hall, Inc., Microsoft Press(R),
Sybex, Osborne/McGraw- Hill, Ventana Press, and Macmillan Publishers, as well as interactive and
video training titles from CBT Systems, Keystone Learning Systems and Viagrafix Corporation will
highlight the new section.

- The Programmer's Paradise main website www.pparadise.com now features online support with
immediate realtime access to customer service, technical support representatives, webmasters and
licensing specialists. Based on the topic selected, requests for assistance are automatically routed
through instant mail or traditional e-mail to appropriate personnel for immediate review and response.
