violatrader:

Michael Dell is full of integrity. If his firm were going to miss any of the high expectations the street has for DELL, he would very diplomatically explain things in advance. All indications are that DELL will have a blowout quarter. I also would not be surprised if Michael Dell announced a 2 for 1 split (whether the stock is over $100 or not). This would demonstrate management's incredible confidence in DELL's future. DELL is my largest position in both accounts and about 70% of my total holdings. I am getting ready to add to my positon in DELL and I will sleep very well this weekend!!

When irrational behavior like this occurs on a stock like DELL everyone (EVERYONE) gets butterflies in their stomach. I think it is from our heritage of "fight or flight." I happened to chose to fight this morning and bought what I could at these prices. IMHO, as long as you are in this for the longer term the odds are with you. If you watch the ticker by the minute and live and die by it you'll be old before your time (I'm already old and I find it invigirates me ;-)

Good luck with whatever you do, but be sure to logically look at all the facts and throw out the speculation. Ask yourself how DELL'S competitors did on their earnings report, what has the company been saying about current sales, what did Greenspan say yesterday, what is inflation at, interest rates at, unemployement at, etc, etc? There's a LOT of positive FACTUAL reasons to feel confident. On the other hand there are a few people speculating and touting their own OPINIONS and random rumors...for what purpose?
