>>I know what a mistake Jobs made bringing in that guy from pepsi, but I'm thinking that there might be somebody that Schmidt knows from Silicon Valley that has a better feel for building internet products --- someone from a successful internet appliance category....>> Paul: The products will come, but the business strategy to tell the world about how Novell fits into those products is what needs to be shouted from the highest IS/IT rooftops worldwide. I am a self-proclaimed soapbox-rooftop blaster in this game, but I'm doing more than that. I'm moving with a team of committed people right smack into this server-centric app space that will upside-down the entire world. My business partner is working with me on a server-app for brokers to use in our industry. Surf the web and visit your private broker's website, complete with research, information, portfolios, trading, etc. The precursor to this is already done for real-estate agents. We had 100 Century 21 agents sign up after 30 minutes of seeing the product just last week. Our beta is done on that, my partner is the sole nationwide distributor, and we'll be offering this up through our networking programs nationwide. I am rapidly preparing for this coming fusion between the Internet and digital wireless spectrum by teaming up with a wireless chain of stores that distribute Nextel, Primco, AT&T and other products. Members of our marketing team have access to selling all these services.... We have picked our server-centric app of choice in the communications area: I-Link. This company has proprietary technology, the only unified messaging product worth looking at that's Internet-based and it just so happens that David Bradford just joined I-Link's board. I began to get into I-Link as an investment just yesterday and look forward to contribute freely my ideas and energy, etc. My digital wireless domain of choice is Nextel - their recent deal with Netscape for the industries first digital wireless microbrowser (you get a 6-pack of MB beer with every purchase). Motorola and Cisco are also behind that deal - as is Craig McCaw.... Paul, I'm building virtual distribution networks by selling connectivity - first in the securities industry with live quotes and trade messaging, but then going beyond those rich networks to everyman on the street. This is like building a Radio Shack in the sky...... The apps and ideas are there. Novell needs to know where they fit in. They need to go belly to belly with me and understand the essence of where this is all going. I think they read these boards. These ideas we share are gifts which I know will return so much more back - even if its from totally separate areas of business and the world. The model of growth in this Internet game: Give and you get back so much more.... Novell needs to humbly, virally, slowly babystep their way into deep trusted business relationships. I know they already have great relationships, it's just that with the Internet you have to really be even more crazy and willing to explore, etc. This is what I love to do in the securities industry. I want Novell to be there with us. I am knocking at their door, but the door has to open. Someone inside Novell has to step out and be the "out there" person - the "left field" crazy - so Novell can bring the relationships and goods and ideas back home in more and more industries so that NDS apps can take off. Get off you apps Novell..... Thanks for the feedback Paul....
