I think you forgot the meaning of a chat board. As long as the topic is DELL, I want to know what people are thinking!

Hey Brian P., it might look like alot of blather to you but the real value of this thread lies in the ability of it's posters to offer opinions to those in need of advice when things get a little nerve-wracking. (much in the same way that a broker is supposed to.)

Facts are facts, but let's face alot of times market is driven by the emotions of investors and can be an emotionally wrenching experience.

This thread offers a "hand to hold" when things get out of hand, and there are alot of good hands to hold onto in here.

But you can stick with your volumes of statistics if you'd like, I just find them to be a bit cold.

JH

Don't all of you have better things to do? What is the point of all the childish ranting against analysts, TV commentators, shorters, persistent negative posters, etc.?

As you can see I do not post often. But I do get wealth of information from this thread. There are a lot of good posters, too many to mention. I have to admit that sometimes the number of posts is overwhelming but I would rather have more information than lack thereof.

Evaluating of the credibility of an analyst or a poster is part of the information one needs to arrive to a good decision. We have Kurlak who seems to have a vendetta against INTC. We need to know how to value his opinion. We have Kumar and Dan Niles and his brokerage firm. Do we know their reasoning and motives? Is Dell worth 10% today than yesterday? Has any fundamental changed? If not, is it time to add more?

If you choose to ignore valuable information, that is your prerogative. On the other hand, if most of us prefer to take into account information for our decision process, it is our choice as well.

Good Luck to your investment approach.

Paul.

To all Dellheads: loaded more at 93.

Brian, Mohan is the Dell thread scribe, and is an invaluable source of up to date, pertinent information for the largest group of successful investors on SI. No one who has profited from his timely advisories, which most of us have, would begrudge him a little blather time.

The Dell thread itself has always had a high noise level, and I admit it can be annoying to the occasional visitor, but if you lurk for a while, you will find there are pearls of wisdom hidden in many of the seemingly off topic posts. The thread has become a cyber community of prosperous investors, and dellheads like the current format. Perhaps one of the other dell threads, such as "DELL: Facts, Stats, News and Analysis" would serve your purposes better.

It makes little sense for you to flame this thread for chat, since that simply precipitates a predictable number of non-productive responses. The best solution might be to use the <next> button, or to simply get on your horse and ride back to where ever you might be welcome. You seem to have a following at Strictly: Drilling and oil-field services; I'm sure they'll have you.

Happy investing
Uncle Frank
