RE: "TA provides set entry/exits for a stock based on precise measures. ... That's exactly why I'm spending so much time trying to learn TA."

From what I've heard about TA, it is as much of an art as a science. I'm open to new ideas to optimize my entry or exit points, so I appreciate it that you share your findings with me. I've been following several SI posters who practice Elliott Wave TA. So far, I have not seen a predictable pattern of "wins" using that method.

What TA methods do you use?

Best wishes,

I2

An exception in the answer.

Work at it, there are no easy ways to success. I think if one applies himself. My way of trading does not apply to you and certainly yours doesn't to me.There are many combinations out there. No one owes you or anyone else the combination that might fit you. You have to find it. I am in a close group of traders that trade from 5-6 times for day to once every 3 months or so. Most are successful, a number like me do it for a living, all understand by their own hard work that TA provides a key.

This topic provides knowledge. It does not wipe your nose, mold a system to your needs, wants, and capabilities. I usually put in 16 hour days at trading, I have been with TA for over 30 years. It is hard to make money without working for it.

This market is drawing in those that will bet the farm on a stock simply on the words of people they don't know. They let others make their decisions. I suggest someone first know himself, then work at finding a plan that fits them. They need to make their own decisions.

People complain about spending $80 for a TA book, or the time needed to learn the basics even. Yet, they risk $1000s on hot tips, strangers, etc.

What have you done to increase your skills? I will leave you now. you and others have work to do.
