Does anyone understand why the I phone's manufacturing cost should be significantly higher than G*s?

I've always suspected that the I's phone price will decline dramatically as soon as they can build them faster than people are willing to buy at the current price.

Is the G* phone weight with, or without, the cellular module? Is the light weight connected in any way to the limited capacity of the battery, or is it perhaps the weight of the phone without the battery? What type of battery is being used?
