For those of you that are concerned about DELL. I just received this information from "stock winners" Subject: Market Alert Markets opened lower and are trying to find a bottom. The weakness in Nasdaq is mostly due to weakness in shares of Dell Computer. BancBoston and Salomon Smith Barney analysts have made comments regarding Dell's earnings due to be released on Tuesday after the close. It appears that the analysts are concerned over competition from Gateway, Compaq and IBM. We believe anytime Dell drops in price, it is a buying opportunity. This morning is no exception. Keep this in mind, shares of Dell Computer were trading at $26 on February 19, 1998, exactly a year ago before the company reported earnings then. Please do NOT panic and do not sell your shares in a fire sale fashion. Dell has recovered from its worst levels of the day.

This is sheer lunacy, Naz. up 90 yesterday, plenty of optimism concerning Dell,now today one analyst speaks and every one sells. you are playing right into their hands. some one wants a bunch of Dell at a discounted price and this is how they will get it. This post is not directly aimed at you LindyBill, I am just venting my frustration. Long on Dell since 10/97 and keeping every share.

I understand your move, LB; dell is a rocky ride, but the rewards make it well worth it for me. I discovered I have a high tolerance for volatility if I can understand the forces behind it. This thread has made it possible for me to remain calm during turbulent periods for dell, and maintain my focus on the overall picture. Please continue to read the dell thread even though you're out at the moment; there is a wealth of insight into the overall market being posted here daily. Sheesh, getting your new Caddy crunched and your dell punched in a 12 hour span sucks. G&Ks will have a great year in '99, Frank
