<On Monday, SBC announced plans to take up to a 10 percent stake in
Williams Communications in the unit's IPO, scheduled for the second quarter.
Williams Communications said it would serve as SBC Communications'
preferred provider for all domestic U.S. transport service.>

This report gives me a lot of reassurance that SBC has Williams in its long range planning as a viable concern. I see this as a way for SBC to benefit from an end-to-end CLEC solution, even if their primary source of revenue (local phone service) is threatened in the long run. All bullish for WCII. Makes me more comfortable holding, even with the recent pricing pressure.

Long Winstar,

PS: Sure am jealous of the Deer Valley reports from SteveG (that's in Utah, right Steve? I seem to remember DV as one of the competing resorts in the Wasatch Range). At least I'm off to Big Bear today!
