I was never into those 80s metal bands you mentioned - I was more into punk and new wave music. I have memories of shows like the Dickies and Vandals gig at the Club Lingerie in Hollywood getting shut down by the fire marshalls. One of the concerts that was really impressive in the early 80s was a Tubes show where they dressed up like the French nobility in the 1700s, tall wigs and all, and did "White Punks on Dope" while destroying the stage set.
