*OT* I hate to drag Rodney King back into this but the crime of at least 3 of those police officers was that they stood by and watched, lending tacit approval to the actions of the errant officers. Your post, The keyword is "MY" not his, not hers, not theirs......... seems to imply that a person of moral integrity has no obligation whatsoever to assist the victim or hinder the perpetrator of an injustice. If that is what you are saying, I respectfully disagree. How can a passionate person of concience stand idly by and let those who live among him, those he loves, do harm to themselves, their loved ones, or their community (or nation)? I submit that in the face of injustice, violence, and criminal abuses of power or authority, a person of concience cannot rest in the smug assurance of his OWN morality and do or say nothing. THAT is hypocrisy, and immorality at its worst. Mike
