Well, this is probably straddling the fence, but I'll be in cash.

This market is impossible to predict, and you are one who had emphasized to play the market based on what it IS doing, not based on what it is PREDICTED to be doing.

As a trading strategy, it would appear to be more logical, given one's inability to predict, to close positions going into a long weekend.

Just my view from the sideline.

David

Last

If the SP500 closes above 1239 (-15) I will be long. If at or below 1239 I will hedge my longs with a short of MDY and DIA.

>post if you are long or short going into the weekend<

Far be it from me to put words in anyone's mouth, especially when I really have to work at understanding the words that come out, but with the exception of the DOT, I think that all of IKE's resistence levels were taken out.

Life is more complicated than that - I'm net long, but I did some selling today out of longterm accounts, including a crown jewel - SUNW, and COMS (and most of my LCOS out of a trading account). I'm also short WDC, ORCL, GTW and EGRP. ORCL and GTW are the only new shorts put on today. The ORCL short is the reversal of a long position.

Is that fence straddling?

Shane Venem - Thanks very much for the Cramer article on investment software. I downloaded the demo from captools, liked what I saw and ordered the program. Will report to all how it works.

LastShadow,

Been reading this thread for a while but don't post much here.

I kept 400 shares long of my DELL to prove the experts wrong on Tuesday. Boy, I hope they are wrong. <g>

Holding WCOM and GE both long and a few minor ups and downs but all long.

The trading gods would be with us Tuesday if we could come up with some sort of offering that would make them happy. Maybe you have an idea?
