RDM,

If reports of of poor Merced Performance are true then the K7 may truly be a blockbuster.

Of course they could bumble and fumble another golden opportunity.

I guess the Intel believers feel they can never get it right.

The AMD longs feel that eventually they will get ONE major product out on time, at high speeds, and ship volumes.

The k-3 has been fumbled and bumbled from Q3 last year to Q1 99. Or a 6-9 month delay.

IMHO no analysts expect AMD to introduce the K7 in Q2 with decent volumes in Q3 at clock speeds of 500-600Mhz.

Should they deliver we can expect a substantial decrease in the 100:1 valuation ratios of Intel:AMD.

Of course if the fumble and bumble to Q1 2000 then the K7 will still be a good solution but the stock will stay in 15-25 range depending upon the Celeron price war.

Regards,

Kash
