<<Kumar's comments merely caused the Hostile React-o-Meter to spin out of control -- outta control, I tell ya. It was as if I had attacked America itself! How dare I waste space on an analyst who dares question the value of Dell's stock -- >>

Describes this board exactly. You'd think Dell was a football team. Or a video game.

Trufflette, that piece by Greenberg is a self-serving piece of tripe. Some time ago I published a mathematical refutation of Kumar's claims, and JHG e-mailed him the comments and invited him to reply. There was never a reply.

Another poster with updated and more complete information came to essentially the same conclusion as me, but was able to do it more accurately (I can't recall who, so please forgive me). But this kind of criticism never made it into Greenberg's column.

He winnowed his mail to try to present the criticisms of Kumar as coming from true believers. That simply is not the case. I frankly resent that piece of crap. Greenberg has engaged in erecting a straw-man-- an emotion driven parody of a Dell investor which he then tries to destroy, but he never deals with the mathematical illogic of Kumar's comments. And Gateway prognostications are irrelevant.

I had to get that off of my chest.
