Michelle, after considerable examination, I have come to favor a consumption tax as a replacement for the outmoded income taxes we currently suffer. Forbes and Armey have correctly identified the problem with income taxes but have not come to the same conclusion on the consumption tax. What do you think?

Michelle - OT - Banking - Graham opposed letting prospective recipient organizations hold banks hostage for donations (not the loans, but "contributions" to the political entities that wanted to guide who got them).

(Banking reform)
Well I think Graham's position is a bit different than this, though essentially you will not find much of an argument here with me. I am very cyncial when it comes to banking reform. Here is an issue that is plainly a no-brainer, one that is just begging for a solution, and yet congress manages always to find something that hitches the thing.

(Taxes)
You will probably not be surprised that I favor a gross reduction (actually an elimination) of capital gains taxes. I abhor the current federal tax structure, favoring a flatter tax or a VAT. A VAT is very appealing to me for numerous reasons, but I can understand how it might not appeal to others.

Actually I would like no taxes at all. Of course I want to live forever also. I have the latter desire licked quite nicely. I find the former infinitely more unattainable.

No one said that abusive parents are better than kind parents just because of religious orientation. Few conservatives believe that Hollywood is completely amoral. And I explained to you that I was referring to a key facet of Murphy's personality, upon which many of the jokes were predicated, just as Jim was uptight or Frank neurotic. Do you completely lack perspective?
