And convicting a president on unproved charges will fix your car?? Thanks for making it clear how well your thought processes work before we give any credence to anything else you might have to say. Unfair you say?? Well then look in a mirror and think about your own statements and actions before spewing ungrounded venom in public.

D - to answer your question, because, as you imply, you are below those in the power elite. Too many of us go about assuming the function of our government is to protect us from each other. It's a nice thought but it evaporates quickly if one has been involved. "No man is above the law" is a platitude more than a fact. If the "law" isn't interested in the damages you claim to have suffered, you have to resort to your own resources. That is why we have civil courts, where the government (the judiciary) acts as referee. The system actually operates on a system of resource allocation: If you don't have resources (as in $$$), the system pretty much relegates you to obscurity. In the case of a sitting President, political influence and socially savvy public opinion shaping can apparently overcome almost any wrongdoing. As I said to Robert Barry: "It is good to be King." Since you or I do not have access to such or the connections to engage them, we exist at a lower plane and must be more cautious in our affairs. Mr. K.
