I didn't know that Niles' earnings estimates were 30 cents on an originally estimated revenue of 5.5 billion. Thanks much for the info. IOW he earlier predicted serious drop in margin which IMO was incompatible with DELL's targetted product mix shift.

Now he is saying that margins are OK but revenues are not (since earnings will still be met). So, assuming that he is correct, perhaps the product mix shift is actually working, which is still very good news. That leaves the revenue part open, which, if I have read Gabriel correctly will depend on storage sales. Having seen EMC's performance in the past, this is likely - but still a wildcard.

I have seen surveys posted in this thread about DELL's storage sales growth but do not remember the numbers. I think that I have the link stored somewhere. Need to do more research.
