NW: I think the best scenario for CPQ next week would be for DELL to beat its revenue and earnings numbers, but less than the whisper (I don't know what either is) and for Michael Dell to give a robust outlook for 1999 and beyond. The chink in the DELL armor was already there, said it way back last quarter - growth is slowing for DELL. What we do not want is for DELL's slowdown to be "perceived" as a slowdown in the PC industry - that would not be good for anyone. I think a lot of today was also people just not wanting to be long over the holiday weekend - when a lot of ST traders want out on a down day, it exacerbates the move.
