not really insider info, but within the institutional community, there has been loud whispers!

as for Kurlak's immediate future, it looks bleak, as the younger go-getters at merrill has bought in the most lucrative m&a businesses, such as the ones from telecomm, internet, intranet, and computer services. he (kurlak) has tried unsuccessively twice to help built a mega-merger between intc and xxxx. this 15 month project was a big embaressment to merrill execs. he probably grew bitter with intc top brass after this and has failed in his other fiduciary duty of covering intc as an analyst.

this much i know.
