I think DELL has topped out yesterday and RS analyst 's view
will turn out to be correct.
DELL is encountering stronger competition from Compaq,HP,Gateway
and the likes. They are emulating DELL 's marketing and inventory
business model ...thus the downturn in DELL will continue ...
Volume does not lie ... lot of institution sold today and
the selling will continue for sometime to come ... IMO.
The momentum investors will be getting out if they have not done
so ... All in all,not a pretty picture for the Nasdaq 's better
performing stock in the last 3 years.

<<So CNBC gets the unduly negative, self-fulfilling prophecy award for today. Do not tell me novice investors were not influenced by this.>>

Kendall, I agree with you totally. In fact, last week in my CNBC posts I said the same thing - "give me a break".

The talk started well before the market opened that Dell would plunge and the techs would tank. I was thoroughly disgusted. If there was no CNBC, Dell would have lost a few points and bounced back. It's the same with some of the big analysts like Acampora - he says it, it happen. I think the SEC should focus on this hype coming out of CNBC in the same way they focus on the scams. They should be much more neutral and just report the facts without the DRAMA. I hope Dell meets expectations and proves them all wrong! Then they will all be talking about how wonderful Dell is and more buy ratings will come out.

It's too bad CNBC has turned into the Sally Jessie Maury Povich Financial Show.

Here is the link to my CNBC comments of last Friday which include comments from Jenna and Tim Luke. Follow the thread - a lot of people contributed to the discussion.
