Re: Friends and things...

Take religion out of the picture.... and you will see that many people actually agree on many things. (btw, that does not mean that the applicable parties have to give up their beliefs.... so long they are kept at the proper distance of course.)

It is the dogma character of things that can seriously clout anything in its path.

Re: Jokes...

I remember one about an Israeli father.... In his concern to teach his young boy about life, he placed the boy up on top of the armoir, and said.

Come Jacob, jump, your father will catch you....

Naturally the boy steps back and says no way!

Father insists... "but look it is me your father, I will catch you, you are not at risk, i assure you...."

Son says no again, and the "negotiation" goes like that for a few minutes....

Finally the father convinces the young boy, who still reluctant nears towards the edge and finally jumps....

Immediately the father moves away from the flying child, who with a heavy thump lands on the floor.

In pain and surprised disbelief he turns around to see his father, and as he is about to protest given the pleading by the father to request his trust.

The father beats him and sternly says:

"This my son, as much as it hurts me, it will teach you to ...

NEVER TRUST ANYBODY.... NOT EVEN YOUR OWN FATHER"

______________

And thank you for the happy wishes, the same goes to you.

Valantine.... ? ah yes, I have a great line for that.

"It is safer to be feared, than to be loved"

An Italian man said that, by association (I guess), a romantic man.... his name ?

Nicolo Maquiavelli. A true Valentine <g>.
