Druss~

I saw you make all of the innocent, trusting, and tiny little animals run into the flames, and away from their natural inclination to survive. My rifles would never be proof against that, would they? I guess you noticed that number 12 of the collection was not willed to Lee? I always did think cyanide was a cowardly way, and not a H------way. So, if you do come for me, well, you must realize--there will be absolutely nothing, in the end, that will give you any reward or pleasure.

Yes (thank you for waking up those memories). I WAS popular when I had the still, wasn't I? Perhaps I did let a little too much methyl through on the first boil...but I don't think it did any of us any real harm, did it?

You knew that I had my vagus nerve removed? It is a marvellous operation! Nowadays, I seldom feel any pain. Besides, there is no longer any stomach lining to impede digestion, so eating (on those rare occasions when it seems necessary) is no longer an ordeal to be dreaded.

What do you mean about the purple puppet? I think you are trying to read too much into it. He was just a play mate and a wonderful friend, that's all.

Yeah, we shore did have fun, eh Dr. US? OOps, I mean DRUSS.

It is true that I drank pretty heavily when I was eight years old. Hell! We all did! You remember what it was like! But I do know what I saw that day of the fire, DRUSS; that tragic and pivotal day that sent us down our separate pathways...when my little purple playmate got up on his feet, and walked stiffly into the flames, treading stoically behind all the other innocent little creatures...
