In response to this email I received from a friend.... ================================ Z, You're crystal ball must be fractured...I like Bill Bradley too, which suggests to me just how unelectable he is. He does have one promotable characteristic in today's political climate, integrity. He's going to need very big money to compete in the blitz of early primaries this time, and I haven't heard anything about his finances so far. If he doesn't break through in this earliest set of primaries, he's probably toast. =========================== The crystal ball was in regards to the call on the Senate impeachment vote.... On Dec.20, I predicted 3 or 4 Republican defections for the reasons stated On Feb 12, at least 5 Repubs...defected... Now name one other "pundit" who predicted that..... Anyway regarding...Bradley.... 1)..He's from Missouri...Iowa's neighboring state and Gephart said he wouldn't run. 2). Both New Jersey and New York's primaries have been moved up to the week after Iowa. This is Bradley's adopted home turf where "everyone knows his name". 3). Integrity will be a big issue whether anyone likes it or not...Gore's has been tarnished through association...Bradley's is impeccable... 4). Partisan politics will be an issue because of Monica gate...Bradley got out of the Senate at the right time because of his disdain of partisan politics. Thus Bradley can run as on outsider who has been on the inside. 5). Bradley also left the Senate due to disdain of campaign financing......Bradley has been a big advocate of campaign finance reform...Campaign financing will be an issue with Gore...in the primaries...and especially in the general election even though the tea kettle (repubs) will be calling pot black. 6). Bradley is more widely respected in the African American community than Gore...Bradley has spoken a lot long and in depth than Gore is even capable of....Bradley will get the support of the black community and Bradley's place on the ballot will most likely keep Jesse from running again. 7). Bradley has celebrity status from his days in the NBA....plus has many celebs amongst his friends such untraditional yet widely admired friends with deep pockets like Phil Jackson and Michael Jordan.... 8). Both Gore and Bush Jr...come from financially and politically privileged households. Bradley does not. Bradley was actually first a Republican and comes from a family of modest means. 9). Bradley is extremely bright and well educated...Gore is a puppet...and Bush has a problem with complex thought and the "vision thang". 10). Dole...a female President? How the heck could the Christian Right explain that to their daughters? 11). Fortune magazine recognized Bradley as favorable to corporate America. 12).
