I think it's naive to think that Dell's management will deliberately leak things out. My guess is this analyst got the bottom line rev and EPS figures from 'the grapevine' so to speak. He then proceeded to fill in the rest of the numbers himself. Now, why will he expose his hand 2 days before earnings. Most likely to save the company from an even bigger disaster. Imagine if the stock had been running up today and Tuesday then the numbers hit. The stock could potentially be cut in half. Letting the steam out now at least provides for a more orderly exit.
