Good question, according to the articles I posted above the answer is no. I am not sure that given the right deal they would not make a move. This could or could not be in conjunction with Siemens.

Several comments made in the last CC including in response to question from CS First Boston about Ericsson awarded a contract with BT that is not in Newbridge's main line of business: Not lost business, not mainstream business, might surprise later on...

In response to either JP Morgan or CIBC Wood Gundy ...got deep pocket alliance member in Siemens.

If the company makes a major move it most likely will be with a company they know very well (I don't think that they want another UB on their hands) and that may give us a clue to companies that may make that list.
