Thanks, Bob, but what about, for example, the rules for wash sales? And can you mix and match? That is, do FIFO for some blocks and not for others -- all in the same account? (What's behind my question is this: is it possible to have, in the same account, a core stock holding around which you trade on dips, etc -- taking gains or losses in those trades even as you maintain the core holding purchased earlier?)
