Nord, >>>I note that some of the folks on the thread see "storage" as a major addition to the LSI product spectrum. Are you in accord with that view?<<< I am in accord, some reasons: 1. I always see computer storage as expected to grow faster than computer installations themselves. This has been true for the past several years. Witness the growth of EMC, which is essentially all storage. Now there's a stock we all should have bought! 2. Related to 1., it seems to me that when LSI has tried strategically to get too far away from computers, as far as their product line is concerned, they have been hurt. An example is when they blamed sales weakening to one of their big customers, Cisco, losing orders because of Asia last year. To me, computers are always there, world-wide, and never get dinged too badly. LSI's other products, chips for internet, communications, games and cameras, fine, but don't lose sight of the big guy, which is still computers. Proof?, Microsoft, Intel, Sun, et al are still growing like gangbusters. 3. The company that LSI bought, Symbios, has an excellent reputation for product innovation, quality and service. I have both first and second hand experience here, don't want to go any further than that. There are a couple of other companies "similar" in size and products to Symbios (which, BTW is now called LSI Storage Div., or something like that, someone correct me) that I could not say the same about. LSI looks to have gotten the best one. That's a short list, but it says it all for me about storage. It wouldn't surprise me if storage became LSI's fastest growing area, once they get it all assimilated. Now, for the rest of those products, let's rock and roll! Tony
