"Type of Broker" versus "Quality and Performance":

Brad, the issue is "Type of Broker" versus "Quality and Performance". My question was related to the former. Your response seemed to be related to the latter. Perhaps my question should have been stated, "Disregarding their ability to perform, Datek seems to be more like AB Watley and MBTrading, and less like E*Trade and Schwab. Why categorize them with the latter and not the former?"

Regarding Quality and Performance, I'm concerned about Datek too. When I can reach someone in Customer Service, they have been helpful and professional. The problem is reaching someone and getting them to call you back. I think that they are way overloaded.

I'm planning to give them a month or so. I want to see what happens at the end of February. If, by March 15th, there are still major problems, I'll try the "higher priced spreads" (pardon the pun).
