do you really think that DELL will leak news?
do you really think that management is that unethical, and does not view its retail customers as important?
do you really think that they would risk a prison sentence?

get real

What does CSCO report each qtr??...

.01 above estimates. DELL probably will report .32, a penny above. DELL is no longer an upstart company. DELL is established now and will begin to manage earnings expectations more effectively.

I wish for a blowout qtr, but doubt it. However, look at earnings MSFT posted.

IMHO...here are some comments from a few analysts that have credibility:

(complements of Reuters 2/12/99)

<<Other brokerages contended, however, that Dell was doing
just fine. In contrast to the naysayers, Credit Suisse First Boston
said Dell was "on track to meet or beat" its fourth quarter
earnings estimate of 31 cents per share and it also said
revenues appear to be ahead of its $5.4 billion estimate.
Even with heightened corporate competition, Dell is still
growing at a much faster clip than its rivals, Warburg Dillon
Read LLC analyst Charles Wolf said. The company has continued
to grow at roughly three times the rate of Compaq, the No. 1
overall supplier of PCs, according to industry estimates.
"It's difficult to believe that the competition has heated
up to the point that Dell will report a weaker quarter," Wolf
said in a telephone interview. >>

The truth will be revealed on Tuesday afternoon.... Fasten your seatbelts..... DELL will RISE AGAIN.!!!!!

<<Dell will report 31 or 32 cents on Tuesday!!

Do you think those analysts want to risk their career?? I don't think so. Think about Mr. Kumar said
28 cents just right before DELL reported earning last time. And everyone of us expected great earning
from DELL. I was so angry Kumar said bad words about DELL. But it turned out he WAS RIGHT!
DELL reported 28 cents and missed whisper number.

I think DELL leaked news to those analysts first. Most of us are expecting DELL to report 34, 35 or
36 cents will be dispointed. I think Michael DELL will tell us why, how and what on Tuesday. And
we will understand DELL is not OLD DELL any more. DELL can not keep 55-60% growth every
year. Well, it will be too late to sell on Wednesday if everyone understand what is going on....>>

...

....

Psychics will make 50 predictions and maybe get 1 or 2 right if they're lucky. Does that mean that they are clairevoyant? Unfortunately people will pay psychics because of those 1 0or 2 hits. It is human nature to forget the 48-49 other predictions which were wrong.

Similarly, you get five analysts evaluating a stock: one predicts EPS at .32, another at .33, another at .34 etc. One will be right. Does that mean that that analyst is better than the others????
