VU Q. NGUYEN,
**********OT***************
This earnings announcement may play differently due to the unusual circumstances. However, in the past Dell's price would run up prior to the earnings announcement. After the announcement, Dell would sell off and the price would drop.

This quarter tech stocks in general have increased in price and then sold off shortly prior to the earnings announcement. This seemed to apply to stocks that did not make any earnings warning. Some continued to sell off after the earnings announcement. Compaq was one of those stocks.

Based on this general market observation, I advised a gentleman to be careful buying Dell just before the earnings announcement. I also shared my general observation about stocks selling off just before the earnings announcement this quarter. I felt with no facts to back it up other then general observation, that Dell might sell off before the earnings announcement. If he saw this starting to happen, it might be a good thing to sell Dell because of the price he was paying for it.

I did not see the major sell off that Dell had Friday coming. I did think they might drop due to the long week end and earnings announcement on first day back from the week end.

Now there is no telling what will happen with Dell next week. It all depends on the sales and earnings. If Dell's PE drops greatly, I might be tempted to buy some. I like to buy while the blood is running in the street. Somehow, I don't think this is going to happen. Mike Dell is awfully good at the investor game.
