You have my vote. However, it is a useful reminder to the people who need it that a bit of expression is helpful in a marriage or other relationship.

Some people drift all too easily into the "You know I love you" trap. It is like Mother's Day and Thanksgiving, a time to pause and think about whether you have expressed what you are feeling. If you haven't, it's a smack upside the head to do so now.

It doesn't have to be commercial. When I was married, my husband and I always spent the evening at home; it was lovely. Ditto with subsequent lover for eight years. We made a point of being alone together.

Everything now a days is commercialized. You don't have to fall into that trap.......

In my opinion, WORDS, your own words, from you heart, will have much more of an impact than any material gift. Make your own Valentines Day card, use your own words, you will be amazed what that will do. And not just for Valentines Day!!
