Ramblings:

Short term trading requires volatility and increased ranges.

Float turnover is a prime measure of volatility and traders present.

Avg vol/Float is a measure of the % of float traded on an average day. It reflects the increased demand for the stock. It is a sign of true volume.

The stocks brought up by such a scan should move up or down in large % moves.

A stock with a float of 100M trading 2M a day has a 2% turnover, a stock with 10m trading 2M a day has a 20% turnover. This can be equated to 10 times the true volume or demand.

Some might be surprised at what stocks don't show up on the list.

When anyone comes up with a measurable definition of illiquid stocks, I would like to hear it.

My plan really leans to making good entries and assuming I'm wrong until I am proven right and keeping losses to a minimum...I've spent 70% of effort on this and the results show I need to give the exits, when in a profitable trade, more attention and even adding positions when correct..I'm sure the fact that pullbacks can be vicious and fast makes me edgy to take what I have..then I usually miss the best part of the move..I have systems that give very good entries..I can't buy them all so judgement comes into play on which one to play.. BTW after Fridays sick market I had no buys..ist time I have seen that in a long time..Thanks for your suggestions. I have been following you for a long time and probably could have responded to myself from what I feel would be your thoughts and had a message similar to yours..
I understand and agree 100%..but doing and understanding can be 2 different things..Now that I understand what my weaknesses are they can be better addressed..
Dick.
Thanks..
