Chris:

Per the article I posted:

"...Dai drifted back to Chongqing, where he now earns between $35 and $45 a month (a healthy wage...)..."

Say average $40 per month equals $480.00 ANNUALLY for unskilled laborer or approx $1.31 per day.....

Per the article you posted:

"...Monthly fees for online time can easily add up to $75, well above the average disposable income of $55 a month earned by urban Chinese.

As a result, about 70% of young urbanites have no access to the
Internet
, according to a recent survey reported by the official New China News Agency. The survey found that only 3% surf the Net often and that 6% have never even heard of it. ...."

That is only 3% of young urbanite population which completely excludes the vast majority of other Chinese.....who earn $40 per month or less..

Especially since China is and was largely an agrarian economy ...

So what is the actual usage of the internet in China....less than a 1/8%...of China's population?????

Would be interesting to see the following numbers analysed.....

Number of Chinese Total...
Number of "Young Urban Chinese" (YUC)...
Number of "Young Urban Chinese" with internet access...3% of YUC
Number of Chinese with internet access as percent of total population?

Plus an answer to the question...how can the vast majority of Chinese making less than $1.31 per day afford computers let alone computer access that even the most affluent of China's purported "middle class" can't afford?

Furthermore, if no one except a select few can afford access...how on earth can wild revenue projections for GTCI be projected this year for an infra-structure that doesn't even exist? For a user group that can't afford to use this infra-structure even if it did exist?

Where the heck is the market?

What the heck "dd" did participants do on this thread before investing?

Sorry to ruin everybody's party....but this one really smells bad.
