Bob,

Remember the days gone by in the late '70's of warnings that we only had 17 years of proven oil reserves left, given world oil consumption patterns?

Last I heard, Saudi Arabia alone could keep us going for over 100 years at present usage rates. However, I don't think we have to worry too much. Congress and Clinton will add new taxes to it and no one will notice until oil prices rebound and people are forced to cut down on driving.

I do totally agree that we are squandering a resource rather than using it wisely. --Al
