Actually, we're not in disagreement over much of your post. I still think dems would have (maybe) reacted the same way faced with the same evidence. There was proof of felonies, which ordinarily disqualify federal officials from their jobs. Dems would have had to find a way to deal with that.

Inexperience as the majority party could have contributed to the divisiveness in the House, I agree.
