Split: March 26th IBD says Mar 12th but I think we actually get the shares on the 26th
Short term performance? Usually splits around 150 and forms a new base and its above that now so who knows?
Long term: probably continue to double for us every year for another two years anyway.
Of course you know that BIll Gates always says "We cannot continue this performance" and IBD quoted him as saying last week "Dont invest in MSFT if you want to make much money!!!!!!" But obviously no one believes him because:Friday's (Feb 12) IBD on page B3 has a table of the most bought new stocks in the top rated mutual funds.
Msft is number one in both categories: most new money put into these fine funds and most number of funds that put money into msft:
152 funds put money into msft and 6056 million dollars was invested in msft. (This table is in IBD every month so I'm assuming its a months worth of buying).
By the way msft is still 94 relative strength rank and 99 earnings per share rank (99 is the top number) on IBD's ratings.

Sounds hopeful to me, hope it does to you too.
And congratulations: I'll say what someone said to me when I first bought msft last year: put the stock away and dont worry about it: a year at a time is a safe review for this company.
Good luck!

Stock Split --march 26. That is the first day it would trade post split.

Short term: Depends on your definations of short term. Next 2 weeks, I have no idea (up or down or sideways).
As it gears up for the split--we should see a huge move.
Then there is earnings in April ; Office2000 release late March.
I am expecting a move as big as December and January was.

Long term: Sorry--I can't think that far ahead. It looks like the greatest large cap investment among tech stocks. Windows2000(formerly NT 5.0 being release mid to late year--one of the biggest releases from MSFT.

Conclusion-Looks good to me.
