Gene,

CPQ has faced the same thing over the past 18 months or so.....
some of it justified, some of it just plane old smoke.
We on this thread can sure appreciate the situation.
It seems there is someone always opening their mouth......
and it's usually right before earnings.....remember Lucy Painter of ML?
That was our Nile!

Gene,

If Nile issued a report that omitted important areas [like storage and servers] and used faulty figures, he better start working on his resume. DELL is not exactly a penny stock one has to go to the blue sheets to to obtain information. If, indeed, his report does turn out to be based on faulty and incomplete information, I hope we never hear from him again. His report hurt a lot of people Friday, not merely people who hold shares of DELL, but shares of a lot of other companies, too. The guy spooked the whole market!

Here's hoping he was wrong--and that very few little-guy DELL shareholders panicked and sold (at a loss).
