Chuzzle and All,

Have been reading the last few posts on this thread, as I have been mystified by the $12 fall on Friday.

My thought is that is due to "stop-loss" orders in program traders. Often these people put automatic SELL orders on when the price falls say 10% (or some other guru determined figure). This would explain the large 66m shares traded.

Looking at the analysts' guesses. there were just as many "exceed forecasts" as "not meet forecasts".Realistically then there was no real change in the fundamentals of the company on Friday's news.

We are looking at a bumpy few days, but the odds are with those who are LONG.

CTC,

Rememeber, people who live by CNPEG2 gets crushed when the ball starts rolling in the other direction! :-)

Actually, I stole the forward RG of 45% (based on targetted market share) from another one of your posts I think.

Chuz, you say: : < when, over an extended period of time the rate of growth of the stock price is several times the expected growth in earnings there is something wrong. > and what might that be? I say there are fewer and fewer companies out there that grow at the rate of Dell, Microssoft, Cisco, Emc and oneor two others. these giants surge and the rest of the market does not and the small cap stocks languish. more money is being concentrated in a few "generals" while the troops languish. And with interesst rates low and everyone and his brother in a 401 K and seeing the stock market as the ONLY place for savings...
up and up we go. 60 million shares of Dell trade in one day. In 1983 the whole Big Board trades for the day were 38.8 million on the day the bull market began.
So these momentum guys who are they. They are you and me.
Some of this is frightening, though. like Friday on Dell down 12%
what are your thoughts? Should Greensjpan deflate the bubble for our own protection? I don't think so.
