Since AMZN almost takes pride in the fact they aren't making money, it is hard to see how the classification of placement charges would be a big issue in their stock price. Latter is made wholly out of AMZN's early dominance of internet marketing rather than any value play. The "value" is projected by the market, hence the runup in price. I think over time BKS and many others will catch up with AMZN and commoditize their sector. I believe Boston Chicken went broke mainly because their restaurants didn't do very well. A very tough sector to make money in, as is bookselling.
