lorrie, you are silly. Much of the humor of the show was predicated upon these foibles of Murphy's. Did you just sit there not getting the jokes? I don't believe it is appropriate behavior on the part of a male to behave as I have described (winning through intimidation, being scheming and vindictive), and I would characterize such a guy as a bastard. Apparently, you approve of behavior that I do not approve of. Big surprise there. The term is GROK, from the Heinlein novel "Stranger In A Strange Land". It means "get it" in a deep way. I thought someone as hip as you would know the term. Sorry....
