stand by my conclusion that DELL has no real product differentiators, no intellectual property, and is vulnerable to
competition.

Yeah, they are a King, but what a King! I had the best return on them of any stock I have bought in the last 4 years.
I sold Dell yesterday on its way down. I know they will have a good quarter, but I think the days of 56% growth are over, it will now be 35% a year, which is great, but not worth the PE's it had.

Tony, post on the DELL thread does not appeal to me. I do lurk occasionally, and they are all over the rational scale.

I share your concern RE: CPQ, but have put some money there late last year and watched it grow. I think they are liable to be THE boxmaker and add differentiators and intellectual property to the mix. I see a pattern to their acquisitions, though it is difficult.

The rumors about buying AMD, poppycock, imo. I would have to dump CPQ if they were serious about that.

>>I completely agree with you. Boy, liable to get a lot of hate mail from Dellheads, though, huh?

Hey, Tony, I'm a dellhead, but I'm sure not going to flame you <g>. I like hearing critiques of dell; if I don't have a ready comeback, I dig in and try to find one. So far I'm batting 1000. Despite Dan Niles (who the hell is he?) speculation about a $300M earnings shortfall, I think dell will post blowout revenue and earnings numbers on Tuesday and dell stockholders (as in me) will increase their net worth substantially. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
