The problem I have with DataPower and ISSM is that I see little evidence of longer term success. DataPower has licensed the rights to use a certain compression technology and to market products in certain regions. I have found no one credible that can verify the practicality of their compression technology, and I have asked some that should know. Also, it is very unclear whether or not DataPower has the rights to market in the U.S. I am also trying to get an answer concerning that question.

DataPower and Bob Terry mention the plan use ISSM's Gallium Arsenide diodes in their products. The problem here is that ISSM tried this before with Motorola and other major companies with no buyers. It seemed fairly clear that they had problems mass producing diodes that consistently satisfied specifications.

I am sure that some of the day traders have (and probably will) make money on ISSM with the short term volatility. Some (and probably more) will lose. My interests are not in day trading, but longer term growth, and, so far, I have not found anything to make me think this is nothing more than a very high risk gamble (which is fine for some, but does not suit my investment style).
