The generals (pilots), and L/M's principle customers, do not appreciate the idea. I hate to say it but I think you are right. I remember a series of commercial plane crashes Ron Brown and others that were caused by failure of on board instuments and weather conditions. Too bad the FAA never picked up on the value of APALS even if for a pilot backup system for commercial flights. From what I understand the system would of added less than a half a million per plane a small price for the ultimate pilot safety backup, Norden
