Can you imagine yourself getting a gun and killing them? I can imagine such a thing. If anyone hurt my husband... I haven't known anyone who was murdered, but my sister was raped by a man who followed her into her apartment. He had a gun, or pretended to. She was terrified, and damaged by it for years. One of the odd things about the experience was that when, in court, she saw the rapist's distraught wife and sad mother, her attitude toward the man himself changed. It was just luck that he was caught and imprisoned, so at least she didn't have the horror of thinking he might return. (Actually, he was caught because he did return, the next day.)
