Mark, my observation was incompletely stated. I should have said that the rats in Hamlin were lead to their destruction by the pied piper. But some people on this thread fail to understand the connection between the vole-like behavior of buying and selling when someone else calls the tune. I suppose that most of us believe in free will. But those who follow the siren call of momentum investing have abandoned their ability to think for themselves and instead choose to allow the piper to call the tune (too many metaphors here, but my brain is unwilling to sort them out for now). Are you claiming that I am in possession of bagpipes? True, I don't get paid for my piping, but it is also true that few momentum people pay any attention to me. You can't make a living as a free lance piper. That's why I am considered a mere blow hard (more's the pity). TTFN, CTC
