Paul, gateway selling PentiumII's is old news look at the date on the story. Gateways pentium II offerings were no different than the offerings from most of their competitors. Facing weak response from the marketplace gateway relaizing they needed to be different to breath new life into the mobil productline turned to AMD with 3D now. the rest is history. A superior, more competive product (product diferentiation with no competition from Dell, at lower price point ( a much easier sell), hence a revitalized productline, made the decision to switch from Intel pentium II to AMd K-6 2/400 with 3dNOW. A no brainer. All AMD has to do is keep making chip with a second MEGA fab the job gets easier for AMd to perform. Sorry Paul but thats the way is is now. The past is the past and AMd's future is brighter.
