Hawaii60, why would the company wait to make the one of the most important announcements it's history until they release earnings? In my mind, the earnings release is a no count matter as everyone has already been told what the numbers will be. Why commingle news of a ‘BIG” partner and spin-off/IPO with a ho hum earnings report? The earnings news will not mean squat unless they miss on the low side. Should that happen, it would be putting ice water on the ‘big' news. I also do not think ‘BIG' partner would want the event mixed in with an earnings release. Also as soon as agreement with Mr. Big is signed it must be released as it is a material event. Just to let everyone know where my bias is, I have a bundle of Feb. calls. I may very well be wrong but I think we get news this week. Perhaps half and half. Big partner this week and IPO registration at earnings.
