Barry, I got to thinking tonight.... (I know a dangerous thing :-)) anyway, the way I see the future shaping up Intel is about to leapfrog the world in semiconductor design. While the other players in chip design have been struggling to remain in business. Intel has been pouring tons of money into R&D.

My futuristic vision tells me we are nearing the end of an era where silicon dominated the industry. The semiconductor chip of the future is going to be dramatically different than today. I visualize it looking similar to a glass prism embedded with fiberoptics. It may not be technologically feasible today, but it will be and the performace of PC's today will look so archaic people will laugh out loud. The internet will be accessed at incredible speeds over direct wireless lines and the television will go the way of the buggy wip. The catalyst? Intense competition between the phone giants, regional bells and cable companies as they pour billions of dollars into efforts to gain market share.

Intel with it's dominate position and amazing cash flow will undoubtedly benefit tremendously. As will so many other American firms living under a steadily deregulated telecommunications industry.

Michael
